Motorcade/FlashParade is an (as yet) unfunded, permanent artspace participating in and encouraging a flourishing cultural life south of the river. Our primary focus is to provide a platform for Bristol and south-west based artists whilst also critically engaging artists from further afield. We host an annual open painting competition and summer residency, to reach out to artists nationally. We aim to facilitate and host a programme of exhibitions and events that nurture and promote the best of what’s happening in the city and beyond to encourage dialogue and foster both peer learning and participation from a wider audience. Working from selected proposals we aim to be an incubator for fresh ideas and interesting ways of working and thinking by providing a space for their cultivation.
