Emily Snell

Emily Snell - Hanging silicone sculpture

In my art practice, I explore themes of femininity and touch, expressed through manipulating tactile materials such as silicone rubber and steel in the form of sculpture, installation and photography. I seek out ambiguity and ask the question, where does my body end and the artwork begin? My training and background in the field of art psychotherapy informs my practice and my identity as an artist as it allows me access to a deeper psychological perspective and informs how an audience might respond to my work emotionally.
