Ruth Piper

A Painter and a Curator, I studied Fashion Design at Kingston University and later for an MA in Painting at Wimbledon School of Art. My commitment as a professional artist began in 1990, whilst living in Oxfordshire. Many exhibitions, collaborations, and projects followed. Continuing in London and since 2007, Bristol. I have exhibited locally, nationally and internationally. Also, since 2014 I have managed the community gallery at Centrespace Studio Co-operative in the city centre.

My paintings are dark romantic composite landscapes, built from elements either invented or observed separately in different places. There is a perfect word for this in German 'Mischlandschafen'.
