Astrid is a portraiture Artist and Headwear designer at Empressive Headwear.

 

Her paintings are works in Oil. She is fascinated by human expression and experience. Working from photographs she explores the subtle nuances within expressions and how personality can be translated through paint onto canvas. 

 

In 2021 she started Empressive Headwear, a business making handmade bespoke and comfortable headwear for any occasion. She enjoys exploring ways to uniquely adorn peoples heads for those who want to express their individuality. 

 

As a graduate from Bath Spa University in 2010 she has continued to paint and exhibit since. The act of painting and the process is a world in which Astrid gets lost and fuels her to continue to make work. She is heavily inspired by surrounding creativity, music and performance and her paintings are a celebration of that.

Her headwear is a way of exploring her creativity in a different way and the options for endless exploration of designs and one off pieces fuels an exciting new avenue self expression.
