My work is an ongoing investigation of self-image which considers how connecting strands through body identity and displacement reveal themselves. The work is personal and unconditionally subjective with a circular narrative where ideas are constantly revisited and reworked. The development, refinement and preservation of ideas which stem from the same place can lead through terrains where the idea of completion is no longer necessarily an expectation.

Expressed through bodies, dresses and portraiture as ciphers the work explores uncertainties and overarching existential fears of who we are and where we are placed in this world. A low-key sub text hums through the works which implicitly addresses familial losses.

Working with screen printing, drawing/mark making and photography, I am currently completing a portraiture series of screen prints on sheets of steel and pulling together my pandemic project of flowers, hair and soil which were documented throughout that time (working title: Hold in Your Hands). The flowers, hair and soil all hold folds of meaning which shift and reshape and lead back to body spaces as a locus of the limitations of my understanding.
